Derrick Egblewogbe

Visual Arts –  Photographer, Filmmaker and Graphic Designer.

Derrick Egblewogbe is a creative strategist, graphic designer, filmmaker, and photographer based in Staffordshire. Derrick enjoys mixing elements of design such us typography with film and photography to clearly communicate his ideas to audiences. Originally from Ghana, West Africa, Derrick moved to the UK when he was 13 and has since been using his experience living of different cultures to influence his work. 


Derick was the Creative Director & Designer at Visionary Studios, where he led a dynamic team in crafting innovative visual experiences. With over a decade of experience in the design industry, Derick has a keen eye for detail and a passion for pushing creative boundaries. His work has been featured in numerous international publications, and he is renowned for his unique approach to blending art and technology. Outside of work, Derick is an avid traveller and draws inspiration from the diverse cultures he encounters.


Derrick has mentored a group of young people and created a range of marketing material for Kwanzaa Collective UK. As part of ‘Tribes: Matabeleland to Staffordshire, Derrick shared a series of images entitled Children of the Diaspora. This series of photographs explored the reimagination of African and Afro-Caribbean culture in the UK. 


As part of his Black Space Residency with B-arts, Derrick created ‘Are You My Ally?’, a short documentary, about the experiences of Black people living in Stoke on Trent and its surrounding areas. The project aimed to find the best ways allies can continually help support the black community meaningfully.
