Munyaradzi Nhananga
Visual Arts – Painter
Painter Munyaradzi Napoleon Nhananga was born in Zimbabwe in 1989 and grew up in Victoria Falls. In 2008, after some time running a food and farming business, he started specializing in art and has been selling his works ever since. Munya takes inspiration from nature. He loves to draw and paint people and wildlife using oil paints, acrylics, oil pastels and graphite pencils.
Munya did not study art at school, instead he taught himself how to draw and paint by spending a lot of time visiting local artists to see their approaches in art and observing how hard they worked to capture the detail of their subjects. Munya’s passion for art has matured as has his techniques. His style varies between abstraction and photorealism.
As part of Kwanzaa Collective UK, Munya has exhibited, facilitated a range of workshops with young people, helped to judge work as part of the annual Three Counties Exhibition, attended conferences and shared his talent with business owners, MPs and councillors at the Black Business award ceremony.
